Abandoned Eaton Colorado Sugar Mill

The pictures on this page were taken April 15th 2007, as we toured the old abandoned Sugar Mill in Eaton Colorado. This old sugar mill was full of surprises, and completely loaded with equipment. We had a lot of fun checking everything out, and covered all 5 stories in and out, every square inch of that place! The company used to be Great Western Sugar. Not sure when this one closed, but the sugar mill in Longmont Colorado closed in the 1970’s. This one appears to have been active more recently potentially, and when we went in for our 2007 expedition almost all of the original machinery was still left inside the building. They imploded the factory on 5/5/2013, the event was recorded by several people who I have no affiliation with, but can be seen here:

If you are interested in any other history of this building, information on the mill itself can be found here .. Information on what ended up happening to the Great Western Sugar company can be found here..

Onwards! These are my pictures taken on our 2007 Expedition to the Eaton Great Western Sugar Mill. As you can see during that time period, it was still fairly complete.
